I’m not sure Ella got the memo.
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is supposed to be a time of great glory and jubilation. It is a time to wave flags, hang bunting and in the absence of your own children, dress up your dog.
So, inspired by the grand pageant on the River Thames in London, I decided to whip up a little regal ship of my own, painstakingly taping two vegetable boxes together and hoisting the Union Jack.
HRH Ella is wearing a vintage piece, fresh from the dressing up box. She may look miserable, but trust me, that is the face of a cocker spaniel who knows a biscuit is just on the horizon.
I hope you’ve all been enjoying the festivities, eating cake and toasting the Queen. She’s a good old sport, isn’t she? I’m not sure I would have stood for 4 straight hours, I don’t care how many boats were floating past.
